Stepping into Jean Follain’s universe through illustrated poetry The assignment: to illustrate the poems from the 20th century surrealist poet Jean Follain, for the 2nd volum of “Jean Follain: Tout fait événement / pour qui sait frémir.“ The challenges: translate Jean Follain’s surrealist poetry by interpreting temporal transitions (past, present, future) and visually representing the poem’s metaphors and characters through illustrations. The style is realistic with a historical touch, evocative of museum art, and incorporates narrative and symbolic elements. Do you also have an upcoming printed project? School and Cinema, bringing culture to kids in Paris’ region! I illustrated two posters for Les Cinémas du Palais, for their amazing programme Ecole et Cinéma (School and Cinema) bringing more than 20 000 kids from Paris regionto cinema every year ! The goal of this programme is to provide kids with the foundation of a cinematographic culture, and to sharpen their curiosity and critical reading.
